There are plenty of grocery and convenience stores, along with necessities such as dry cleaning. My own unit had a washer built on its balcony. Kanda is also home to a great restaurant and bar scene. The unit was furnished with a desk, couch, and bed. Although there was no bathroom in-unit, there were facilities in the building that were easy to access.
